Jason Rupert dominated the Heritage Funny Car class winning his second consecutive Ignitor AA/Funny Car Wally. Rupert was the low qualifier at 5.82, followed up in eliminations with a 5.89, 5.76-251.60 (both ends of track record) and a 5.78-251.60 in the final to defeat the Texas-based team of John Hale.
